How To Follow Up With Your Network Marketing Leads
Here are some of the biggest reasons you want to follow up with your MLM leads. This should really clear up some of your follow up questions.
Some people will actually lose your information, sounds funny, but it does happen. When I am on the phone with teammates I hear this all the time. They have a qualified prospect looking at the business or looking to enroll as a customer. They have a scheduled follow up, leave a message and never hear back. Later they run into them around town and they say, I have been trying to get in touch with you, I lost your information.
Even if they are interested, most of the time you will not hear back from them. You have to call them, it’s just the way it is. The reason for this is life kicks in real quick. It is very easy for the normal daily things to distract them like family, friends, relationships, work, and personal things.
If you are new and do not have lots of leads coming in daily, you need to follow up until the person gives you an answer! Work your leads with posture, but don’t be annoying, this is how I work my follow ups.
First Call: Hi John, This is Tom Doherty. We had an appointment to speak at 6:00pm today, I wanted to keep my word and follow up with you at the time we agreed on. Call me back at your earliest convenience, my number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Looking forward to speaking with you.
Second Call: (1 day later) Hi John, This is Tom Doherty. We had an appointment to speak yesterday at 6:00pm. I left you a message and didn’t hear back, hope everything is alright. My call back number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Looking forward to speaking with you.
Third Call: (3-5 days later) Hi John, This is Tom Doherty. I am not sure what happened to you, I left you a few messages and have not heard back. Hope everything is alright on your end. My call back number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Looking forward to speaking with you.
Fourth Call: (1 Month Later) Hi John, This is Tom Doherty. Thought about you today, how’s things? I left you a few messages and have not heard back. Hope everything is alright on your end. My call back number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Looking forward to speaking with you.
These follow up messages are just some examples. I like to mix it up from time to time, and you should too. Be creative and add your personality to it.
Keep calling the prospect once a month till you hear from them. Who cares, what else are you going to be doing besides working a job. Get on the phone and get busy! Continue to make new contacts while you are doing this and keep adding follow ups to your calendar.
What I used to do is stop calling a person after the third call. But what I found is most people enroll with you after the third call. If you are studying closing sales, 81% of sales and closes happen on the 5th or later follow up. Occasionally, you will enroll some of your network marketing leads on the first call. But it is not likely. This is also really good practice for you. You will become a rock star over the phone.
