Do You Burn in Your Ads on Craigslist?

Do You Burn in Your Ads on Craigslist?

burn-in-your-craigslist-adsWhen you start an account on Craigslist, do you burn your Craigslist ads?

If your not sure what I am talking about then you probably don’t. In this blog I am going to teach you a very easy tip anyone could do to help you have more live ads on Craigslist.

What is a Burn Ad?

An easy way for me to explain this is by using food as an example. When you marinate food you put seasons on it and let it sit. The longer it sits the better it taste in most cases. Well let’s compare that to burning in your Craigslist account. When you first create a Craigslist account don’t post your original content. Post a few ads that are somewhat relevant to your niche and congruent to what you are using it for. Let those ads burn in or ‘marinate’. The longer you let them sit the better.

Create Multiple Burn in Ads

Here are 5 tips to really make this effective.

First: Don’t use any call to actions when creating your burn in ads, an example would be don’t use any email, phone number or website url. Remember the goal here is to get your account in good standings when it’s first created.

Second: Post relevant content. Figure out what you are using this account you just created for. If you are promoting your business, what kind of business is it. If it’s health related post content about health topics.

Third: Post 1-2 ads every time you post. Do not post anymore than 1-2 ads per 48 hours on Craigslist. If you do any more than this Craigslist will see you as over posting and your account will quickly go into bad standings.

Fourth: Post new ads every time don’t renew your ads. Do not renew any ads while burning in your account. Follow tip 3 and post 1-2 ads every 48 hours.

Fifth: Do this process for 2 weeks or more. You might be wondering how long should I do this for? You should do this for at least 2 weeks, but the longer you do the better.

Follow these steps to burn in your ads using Craigslist. You will notice more of your ads going live when you do this process. Most people just create an account and start posting ads without burning the ads in. Did you ever burn in your Craigslist account before? Let me know your results.
