How to Advertise on Craigslist Without Being Ghosted
Can you advertise on Craigslist without all your ads being ghosted?
The good news for all of you Craigslist marketers, is Craigslist no longer ghost your ads.
This doesn’t mean all of your ads will automatically go live. But it does stop the problem with Craigslist where you always have to check and see if your ad is live.
What is Craigslist Ghosting?
So what is a ghosted ad on Craigslist? I highly recommend you watch this video I created on how to prevent ghosting on Craigslist. Even though ghosting has stopped, you will still learn a lot of useful marketing tips from this video. When you place an ad on Craigslist and it shows that it has been successfully placed, and later you go look for that ad and don’t see it that is a ghosted ad. Some people don’t even know when it’s happening. If you search on Craigslist under their FAQ’s section, you will find nothing about ghosting on Craigslist. This was a term made up by the community not Craigslist.
But My Ad Was Deleted Isn’t That Ghosting?
No if you ad was deleted it was done by some of the rules that applied to ghosting on Craigslist. An example would be over posting (posting way to fast from one account) or posting outside of your area (Craigslist was meant for local posting). Usually when an ad is deleted it is caused by the above two reasons. If your ad stays live and than gets deleted later it is usually a Craigslist competitor.
So now that Craigslist is not ghosting anymore ads you still have to know some basic rules. Don’t over post, don’t post outside of your area. If you follow those two rules you should see a lot more ads go live and stay live on Craigslist. If you have any questions or comments, I always respond. Thanks for reading.
Much Success and Gratitude!
